The Children's Health Act was passed in 2000.

The Garrett Lee Smith Memorial Act was implemented in 2004 to provide funding for youth suicide prevention.

This act instituted reforms to ensure justice, safety, education, youth, and alcohol and substance abuse prevention and treament remains the focus of future administrations.
